Enhancements for Developer Activity, PR Cycle Time, and More!

In our continuous efforts to improve the Optimal Insights experience, this week’s release introduces significant enhancements aimed at streamlining your analytics workflow.

    New Features

    • Enhanced Activity Page Clustering: Our activity page now boasts a brand new clustering algorithm that improves the grouping of similar activities. Different types of activity such as commits or reviews will now cluster together, making it easier to differentiate them.
    • New PR Cycle Time Table with Search: Navigate Github PRs with ease using our new PR Cycle Time Table that now includes search functionality. Quickly locate pull requests by searching for specific titles, repos, or branches attached to a PR.
    • Global Sort for Key Metrics: Our new sorting capabilities will enable more efficiency for teams. You can now organize your data metrics such as Time to Open, Time to Merge, and PR Size—even after applying a search filter.

    How it Works

    • The activity clustering algorithm displays all PR data in Activity such as PR commits, reviews, etc, in clusters to increase readability.
    • The PR Cycle Time Table integrates a search bar that allows users to input keywords and swiftly filter through pull request titles, narrowing down the vast pool of data to the most relevant entries.
    • Additionally, the sorting function in the table allows users to sort entire datasets with a chosen metric. Instantly rearrange data either in its full scope or within the confines of a search result.

    What is it Good for?

These new features enhance the app’s core functionality of providing actionable analytics, making it particularly useful for:

    • Project managers tracking team productivity.
    • Developers overseeing code reviews and pull request management.
    • Data analysts seeking to visualize project trends and performance.

    What Questions Does it Answer?

    • “How can I better understand the patterns in my team’s git activities?”
    • “How can I find specific pull requests quickly and efficiently?”
    • “How can I sort and organize PR data effectively?”

Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to empower teams with unique and actionable insights.
